Les Boulez

Won convincingly over a decent team last night. I don't really care about that, what I do care about is that it was Gilbert Arenas' 23rd birthday. By NBA standards he'll be over the hill soon. I really feel sorry for the Warriors, they had a bunch of these guys, Larry Hughes, Arenas, Anferneetwan Jamison when they were dumb rookies and lost them before they got their acts together. Oddly enough the Wizards have a history of Ex-Warriors, they stole C. Webber and Mitch Richmond from them back in the Boulez days.

Azlo, "Me and Mia" is the greatest song ever, this occurred to me as I was walking down the street and it came on my eyePod. There is absolutely nothing wrong with it and no way anyone could say they don't like it. Except for your powerglove, it hates Ted Leo because it is retarded.

Azlo 2: The Return of Azlo, there's an article in the Post on the Scissor Sisters with a FABULOUS picture of them. Their original name was apparently "Dead Lesbian and the Fibrillating Scissor Sisters."

"I was pwetty bummed that Bwyan couldn't make it to my pweformance, but I knew that if I sang a sowg about my wife (hilarious) evewyone would undewstand whewe I was coming fwom."

Check the blog counter and be vewwwy vewwwy afwaid.

Yeah, 'zards turned it up for the NBA on TNT. I heard about Arenas. Man, that guy's already made a comeback by 23. Gross.

As for the blog counter, don't put too much stock in it. Through the counter's site, you can check IPs and "referring pages" if people follow links here (rather than just type the url in). So far, everyone other than us is coming from a random blog that has nothing to do with anything; they're just clicking "next blog," and most likely clicking it again.

Scissor Sisters are cool... the name makes... some sense now.

I didn't know they were THAT big in England, and I still wouldn't have the balls to go to one of their shows, so to speak. I'll enjoy them at iPod's length.

Picture is good. I like when people are described as fashionistas, and then there's a picture of them in Grapes of Wrath overalls. Maybe whatsisname, Pirani was ahead of his time. Chicken suits are next.

As you were walking through your life this morning, sun was out the air was warm, but ohoowoahoo-oh, you still felt the need to bring the powerglove into this?! Let's not take these metaphors too far, as you, my friend, are apt to do.

I am curious to see what a full 1 on 1 lunch conversation with on Mr. Hunter will be like. I'll try and ask him about activities involving Tatsuro's back but no promises there.

It is completely understandable that Scissor Sisters are big in the UK since they seem more generally accepting of unique new pop/rock over there. We have discussed this before, how it is odd to think that a group of soccer hooligans actually enjoy some Morrissey songs, but it seems to happen. Nascar dad's (US hooligan equivalent, Chav = American Jackass) would not necessarily have any way of hearing Scissor Sisters much less enjoying it because (1) they're homophobic idiots and (2) it seems if you want to listen to something other than Evanescence, Kenny Chesney, or Usher, you have to try pretty hard. We have both invested quite a bit of time and money into indie/rock/punk music (and no more than 1 hip hop album a year) as far as tracing the tree of influence back to old bands, figuring out new stuff that is genuinely good and building stockpiles of tapes, cds and downloads. I think there are British people who have invested as much but more good stuff seems to be more readily avaliable to them without as much digging. It's definately the fault of record labels and gooey Sony-BMG monsters. I would have made this same argument when I was 15. 15 year old KC would quote subsist: "Bel Air Punk Rock kids unite, to create a scene and make it right." Then I hit him in his 15 yr old nuts.

Azlo, British people suck too. There are 20 Gareth Keenans and David Brents for every Nick Hornby. Just because they've bought Scissor Sisters doesn't mean they can see whats wrong with Alanis Morrisette. Idiots. Everyone is an idiot.

Agreed. Your Brit "openness to cool" theory is interesting. I will think about it. Your caveat is most certainly true.

Dya think Chav is offensive? I mean, like white trash offensive, sure, but more than that? I just wonder...

Yeah, Dawson's cool, just don't talk politics, I think. The powerglove will be in, it may accompany me out in Baltimore. Apparently, after 5, prices take a dive, or so I hear. I look forward to power-flipping the bird to some dolphins. Who's mixing metaphors now?

Generally not a fan of the new Vans released since I was 17 or so. They're better for skateboarding, but the new soles got no soul, and I'm not hanging out in Dogtown with the Z-boys.

Now, this, if you could find it in olive green:

Best worn with a smelly old pair of socks.

Perhaps

or

Maybe too trendy. I dunno, what're ya lookin fer? Wasn't this thread about Les Boulez? Best to bury clothing related items deep in sports related threads.

Clothing discussion is more hetero than the Scissor Sisters discussion that this thread has azlo encompassed. Say hi to the dolphins for me.
