Vindaloo
The speech will certainly be long and hilarious this evening. How was the Jameson in the single malt glass? We certainly need to stop spending money. The hypothetical "big move" moves closer and closer and we need to have some duckets saved up. We're idiots.
More Bill Simmons blogging.....with pictures. There are so many classics. Here are several subjects: Stephen A Smith & Stu Scott, Randall Gay's Jersey, Univision, Guy from Weather Channel interviewing Kevin Kasper. http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story?page=simmons/mediaday/1
We didn't discuss it yesterday, but Ryan Adams, 3 albums, c'mon now. Parker Posey couldn't inspire that many songs. So are you riding with me on Saturday or are you not sure yet?

Infrequency and Indie Punching. Not Professionalism.

I'm saving some time for the Simmons read, cuz I'm pretty busy as-is. I did skim the Post though.
I could do this "K. Wilcox's" jorb:

Wings, wings:

Frying sounds hella hard.
The Simmons thing will go by quick, it's like a photo diary. I saw the wings thing too. I'm hungry. I'll probably be interviewing most of the morning, so smell you later.
Azlo, it is Groundhog Day. This day, so far, is just another gray extension of yesterday, so let's hope it's not repeated over and over. Though daily vindaloo sounds pretty good. Also, I hate Andie McDowell.
Why isn't the federal government headquartered in Philadelphia? Damn you, Thomas Jefferson etc.!

I had mixed emotions when I heard that John Basedow, Fitness Celebrity, was still missing after the tsunami. I won't get into those emotions here, in hope of catching a slower boat to Hell, at least.
Thanks goodness they clear up after reading the important message here...

Oddly enough, my father and I share a deep hatred of Andie MacDowell. One of the few things I cherish about our relationship.
John Basedow missing is the actual reason I haven't been getting enough sleep lately.....I mean, he had that proven system, that lead to back-to-back-to-back AAU national champions....wait, no, that's Tom Emanski. Thank God Fred McGriff is ok. My terrible imagination involves John Basedow, walking on a beach, kicking sand on a twerpy guy, stealing his hot girlfriend, then getting swallowed by a huge wave. Karma.
Hahaha. Twerp! Looks like this may be something of a longer day, I'll keep you updated if it looks like I'll be particularly late getting back to the Contrivance.
To answer your original questions, Jameson is magically delicious, and I'm figuring on coming with you on Saturday, so estimated departure times are up to you.
Yeah, let me know if you'll be late, I'll probably go to the gym anyway and it probably couldn't hurt to simmer the vindaloo for a bit longer since i'm sure they did at King's Kabob.
I still have to mapquest out our journey on Saturday. I should be able to let you know tommorry.
There was a secret presale for the band Erasure at 9:30 Club this morning and accroding to my sources, tickets were $40, am I missing something? Is there that much interest in them in the gay community (and Kristen Louk since she likes synth pop)? Who are the ad wizards that came up with this one?
I dunno, I feel like Erasure have a weird, invisible fanbase - I'm also not sure they were always trying to break the chains of love with upbeat, alternative-lifestyle-informed pop music. I mean, my uncle Tom, who may actually believe his last name is Soprano, owns an Erasure album. He also owns multiple Crowded House CDs. Weird.
Hell, an evening with Siouxieosie did alright, no?
Hahahaha. I hate Tang.

Ha ha, that article should be called: "Lifetime Baseball Jerk Gets What's Comin' To Him"
Oh yes, young lady call, she ask for you, I yell "Cartwright," no one answer, young lady hang up.
Alright.
I am a glutton for punishment (reading, I'm not posting) - from the Dirda chat:
"The C Span reference, by the way, is to a program on I am Charlotte Simmons in which I was the vociferous liberal on the panel. I did dress in my Tom Wolfe double-breasted though."

They're showing up now, how dare you scoff at my hilarious Seinfeld Chinese Restaurant quote. We interviewed someone named Cartwright today and that's all I could think about.
I generally read the Dirda chat as well. My favorite from today:
Michael Dirda: It aired on Sunday, but I didn't watch it myself. I can't bear the thought of seeing myself on television. (Dirda mimes "Morrissey-style fainting gesture").
Someone asked about comics, he suggested American Splendor Anthologies, which I was thinking might be cool to have. He surprised me by not suggesting Garfield anthologies, I thought that would be right up his lame alley.
I don't generally read the Dirda chat unless I want to sleep. Everyone kisses his ass or tries to show off their taste. Imagine if pitchfork had chats? Unless the hipsters think they're too cool for it...
Speaking of chats, this one's HILARIOUSly frightening.
