The phi delts are dumb. They don't seem to realize that it's not a vast conspiracy against them, they're just morons. I talked with Brendan about this last eve, and gave him some book suggestions. I finished "Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close," pretty damn good. I liked it more than "Everything is Illuminated," I owe most of that to the autographedness of my copy.
I'm on my way to being this guy except for not a Royals fan.
Last night was the season finale of The US Office. Will it return? At some point I switched to According to Jim to remind myself that TV is a lot worse. Baaaloosh!
In an interesting turn of events (that will in no way influence my attendance), Sonic Youth has dropped out of the Pixies Merriwether concert and Bloc Party is in. Baaaloosh!

Yeah, my dad's been reading Chesapeake since it was published. I keep telling him, you have to get past the part where the Indian figures out you can eat crabs. Or something.
I don't think you're on the Jenn Carey listserv, but there's been a conversation going on about "the end of May Day" and other sundry matters (I got the Roderick email too, seeing as I'm W.C. staff). I think, to some extent, it is a conspiracy, but not the kind you can expose and beat. Just the kind that shows favoritism to successful, intelligent, well-connected people. Wha?!?
It already looks like the Phillies and Nationals may be in a fight to the finish (cuz that's a good place to end) for last in the NL East. There's a really good, Fernando Valenzuela style fat-pitcher-in-action picture of Jon Lieber here.
Saw the Tim article. He peaked in the Ali G movie.
My copy of Chesapeake still hasn't been cracked.....and probably will never be. Failure to conquer that book may be the thing that has made our fathers so snide. I'm already snide enough.
The more I think about it, the best thing about Washington College is Andy's which Administratatron (the greater Hoesly/Sue Parks/PS/etc transformer creature) does not have control over. Plus, when compared to the outside world, it's cheap....and not the Bluebird.
Jon Lieber is fat. Ha ha, your team has a fat white pitcher, what's that like.
Pitchfork breaks the story...Ben Fold is a wuss. Durrrrrr. I ended up downloading multiple Hold Steady songs last night, they're enjoyable, but I'm not goin to Lancaster to see them.
I get a little frustrated when Pitchfork takes easy shots like this. And if it's that bad, give it less than a five. Certainly, I'm not going to buy the new Ben Folds album - but I don't think that's Ben Folds' fault.
Andy's is pretty great. I miss Ginsa Boule and 60 minute IPAs. Not too many of them, though.
Ya know what's great about baseball uniforms (esp. for Lieber and Ponson)? Belts.
We've spoken many times about the hilarity of baseball uni belts. It ultimately leads to the discussion of managers wearing uniforms. This is normal, but could you imagine this guy wearing this or him rockin a fresh throwback.
There is a Decemberists performance on the KCRW site, I am officially excited for that concert.
I hope I have money for this album in August. They are also making a stop in Lancaster on tour. I can't help but think this this guy and his bucket have something to do with it.
I tried kinda hard to find a picture of a really Majerus-fat guy in a hot throwback, but alas, no dice. You woulda thunk Big Pun was a bigger sports fan.
I keep a pile of papers in my office I'd like to tell you about. The top one says "No Basura." My Spanish is awesome.
Googling "fat, basketball" will get you this, that and a picture of Alec Baldwin. Nothing too funny, unless Alec Baldwin makes you think of this.
