The World is a Vampire

Billy Corgan is stupid. That dumb line played on myPod this morning and now it's in my head. It means nothing. The world sucks? Is that what it means? The world sucks like a vampire sucks blood? What about Count Duckula and Danger Mouse.....I mean....Danger Mouse. They had some wicked mash-ups.

.4?, c'mon. Jerks. Speaking of jerks.....who hates driving?

Orioles and Phillies won, what a wonderful world.

That author I like so good is gonna be on the Post's chat. He had a nice item in Book World over the weekend.

He likes Man U, though. Why do you have that song on your iPod? Two Joy Division songs came on mine on the way to work. Dark. I nearly lost control.

THAMES! Prnounced Thayms.

Very industrious post. Is that due to the tremendous amount of sleep last night? For the record, Hard Times Cafe is remarkably Blue-bird like. Monday is also half-price burger night. They put chili on everything. I'm guessing I'm not going to make it back. Also, "Finding Neverland" is alright - it's kind of maudlin, and hence makes girls cry. At least in my experience.

Speaking of "the baseball," are you rejoicing in the Nats' injury woes? They're hurtin. Boswell has a column about grit today. Sweet.

Yeah, have some balls and give it a "0."

I'm willing to bet Saffron Foyer is not un-Dirda-like in his pretension.

I am enjoying the Blue Jays injury woes. I hate them, and Cito Gaston.

Contrary to popular belief, I did not get much sleep last night. I could not get to sleep to save my life and had a rough time getting up this morning.

From the tone of thethe Spoon review, I don't see why they didn't give it a 10. I guess they get points off for be American and kind of popular. I think 2 different reviewers do the numbering and writing.

Boooooo hippie cruise.

Is your bro going on the hippie cruise? I dunno, I always wanted to see Karl Denney's Tiny Universe.

The Cito Gaston site is Canadian Baseball News, which is exactly half as interesting as last year.

Agreed on the Spoon review. Sounds like a good record, though. I bet The Tick would enjoy it.

I guess Larry David is kidding?

Looks like Karl stopped working out...and is still a virgin.

I think that Brendan Joseph Cunningham aka "The Beej" has fully endorsed the Spoon record...now would be a good time for him to chime in and prove that he was not trampled by a horse.

Brendan is alive and untouched by horse's hoof. He threatened to post about his adventure on the 521 blog, but said that nothing interesting happened. I should've asked him to get me a julep cup. Damn, I forgot to break out my julep book. It's only good one day a year.

Prior to the derby, I said: 'I've got $50 on the Brendan trifecta. "Gets drunk" in first, "does something dumb" second, with "regret" close behind in third.'

Apparently, I lose.

Also, apparently Ryan Adams played guitar with Ye Olde Decemberistes at their show in Hippietown, USA - er, Asheville, NC this weekend. Weird.

Bob Dylan is turning into a goat. Maybe if we run up behind him his legs will give out and he'll start shaking like on Wildboyz.....or like old people do when you scare them.

Speaking of U2, did you guys know that it's Christmas today?

Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha. Merry Christmas. Even my parents thought that Bono joke was good. Then again, my mom is jealous that I saw John Entwhistle with the Who.

How about Kentucker? That sounds good.

PDT is up to sending out emails every time Brooks sneezes.

Maybe Bob Dylan is growing a goat face. Not a face like a goat's face, a goat for a face.

Ryan Adams should hang out with Jeff Tweedy, so he (Adams) looks better. I guess the Decemberists probably have the same effect.

Also, I think I'm getting beaten up on the 9:30 forum, but I dunno. Check the 500 indie songs thread.

Foer: "To be honest, I don't "consider myself" at all."

I stand corrected. I think all Dirda does is consider himself. I hope he never searches Technorati for his name. We'd me arrested.
