Live the Dream
Pitchfork makes fun of Philadelphia, but not Bob Geldof's creepiness. I think we all know why he announced the concert on a Tuesday. But lets get back to the matter at hand: Will Smith, Bon Jovi, Stevie Wonder, Rob Thomas, Maroon 5, Jay-Z, Puff Daddy (no Diddy?), Dave Matthews, Sarah McLaughlin and 50 Cent! What an all-star jam, I am sooooo there.
You can read the Trader Joe's old timey Flyer here as a pdf.
For whatever reason I recently remembered the Hanna Barbara Danger Mouse equivalent, Secret Squirrel and Morocco Mole. You can also, "Live the Dream".

Infrequency and Indie Punching. Not Professionalism.

Sorry. Busy.
Not atoll interested in Live 8.
The Phillies still suck, but slightly less. Or everyone else in the NL East has begun to suck as well. Hmmm. Of course, they need to go like 65-40 to win 90 games this year. Bastards.
My favorite is Trader Ming.
Courtney coming down tonight, likely. Doubt we'll leave the apt.
Malkmus Saturday - only if tickets aren't sold out on Saturday.
Shakaspeare Sunday for me.
I think Trader Ming made my lunch today, he does good work.
Malkmus only if tickets suddenly become free and someone comes to the apartment and drops them off for me.
Scrubs Sunday for me.
According to the Dischord site:
The Evens, Thurs June 30th, Ft Reno, Free. The price is right.
Full Ft Reno schedule not announced yet.
Malkmus: Sold Out
Multiple entries in the 930 FAQ section about "will the Ted Leo show sell out?" Hmmmmm.
Damn you Malkmus!!! The good reviews probably did it in. Oh well. I guess a Ted Leo purchase should be done by/over the weekend.
I can't stop reading this guy, it's like Mexican TV, "Riding the Bus with my Sister" and James Lipton all rolled into one putrelescent ball of chat:
"Washington, DC: Mr. Dirda, am a huge fan and value your opinion. What do you think of literary prizes, particularly for undergrads? I am thinking about my alma mater's -- Washington College -- Sophie Kerr Prize, the largest cash award offered to an undergrad. Friends from other schools say that it's too much $$$ for someone so young. I say God bless them and may they keep writing!; What are your thoughts?
Michael Dirda: Hard call. On the one hand, the Sophie Kerr prize--when I was there to give a commencement address it was for $30,000, and may be more now--gives Washington College a unique status and luster. ON the other hand, I don't believe any of the winners of the prize have gone on to become important writers, and many don't even become writers. I'm leery in general of prizes--they tend to go to the wrong people, he said (looking back to the recent Los Angeles Times Book Award in the category of Current Interest)."
