Yahoo?

I checked our site meter and some of those searches are pretty great. It appears that Yahoo's search engine includes blogs and people who want to look for "What did women in Miami Vice dress like?"

Simmons' draft diary if you didn't get to it yesterday. It includes some Stephen A classics.

I might try and check out this record store this weekend.

I miss Yahoo Serious.

Good to know Young Einstein is still rockin' out. He is, right?

That rekkid store looks cool. There's something off on this page, though. Did someobody buy 100 copies of the Boyz in da Hood OST?

Walked through Saint-Ex last night, a little too crowded to hang out. Reminds me more of a nice pub (genuine, not Tipsy O'Flanagan's Irish'd up). Had a couple drinks at Bar Pilar instead. Good beer selection, no more expensive than the Black Cat. Bonus: Smells like paint. Double bonus: no smoking before 10. I think both bars are run by the same folks.

Anyway, it's good to know for next time we want to hit a bar before going... to the... bar.

Further research reveals that Boyz in da Hood is a new rap collective...and I thought Pitchfork was supposed to be keeping us up on that type of crap. I guess they are not sanctioned by R Kelly.

If you sit on the bar, do they tell you, "get off the Bar Pilar"?

Oooooh, this was why Saint-Ex was crowded and unhip last night.

There's a rap.about.com? Hilarious. Take that, rockists!

Pitchfork really has gone off the deep end in the dichotomy between their single and album reviews. It's like a newspaper publishing WSJ Editorial and WPost news. Or something. That's not quite right

The guy who runs Philly's R5 Productions is a reliably correct tastemaker... I forgot that he posts sample mp3s of a lot of bands who come through Philly - good, kind of obscure stuff, like the latest from Dungen. It's fun to read the quick write-ups, too, just for the palpable reluctance to continue putting on hardcore shows. Sometimes, when you're doin it for the kids, you have to realize the kids kind of suck.

I think I'll celebrate the birth of our nation by trying to finish all the beer before you get home, just like George Washington would have wanted.

Bob Mould had a link to these guys on his blog. I'd bet their belt buckles are pretty fabulous.
