Welcome to the Glue Factory

Now that we are the official Washington Post sanctioned horse-hating devil blog, I think that we are required to provide thrilling daily content to our entire readership. Then again, we may just be the flavor of the month, and why compromise the strong punk cred we have built and offend our indie rockstar readership. We shall have a meeting with Brendan Cunningham and Bob Mould to decide which direction to take this venture.

We are also the only blog talking about the Norm Chad article. Bill Simmons' magazine articles are like Bill Simmons Lite. Watered down and less filling.

The Burn to Shine - Chicago DVD is out with Wilco, Tortoise and the Ponys among the bands. Might need to make another trip to the Dischord online emporium for what I will be calling the Super Punk Rock Toy Run Extravaganza '85. Merchandise....it keeps us alive.

I'd rather work the night shift at the thrill factory. That's nuts. Thanks for nothing, Technorati. This is where Dave Grohl's Devil shrinks painfully from the light.

Yeah, and Bill Simmons fantasy football articles are crap.

So OLN has hired some guy. I propose all future games be called by him with color commentary by the Blades of Steel computer voice.

New Burn to Shine is less impressive. It just isn't the same without this Ian.

Let's not link any lead editorials or anything.

Azlo, I bought the new Ryan Adams song, "The Hardest Part" (not to be confused with Coldplay's new song, "The Hardest Part") from iTunes. It's pretty darn good. Moroccan Role had it, but got overtrafficked.

I'd rather be working the night shift too. I guess we should be careful about linking, but I think we've been pretty good about it.

I'll have to check the Ryan Adams song out.

I'd like to hear Bill Clement and Gary Thorne shout out "It's the Pass!" or "Catch the pass!" or whatever Konami assumed hockey announcers say. Cool Graphics, Great Music, Everyone will want it...Konami. This is waaaay too extensive.

I guess if we get horse people mad at us, we can be sure this wouldn't be their means of intimidation.

New Pornographers Sat. 10.15, $15, I might buy my ticket soon, as I'm worried it'll sell out. Wasn't sure if you could afford it, what with the $25 Nickel Creek concert just one week earlier.

According to wikipedia, it's "Get the pass." It's no Double Dribble. Actually, Blades kicks DD's ass. Or face.

Not interested in New Pornographers. Their studio magic is enough for me. "Use It" is an excellent song. Whadja think of those Okkervil River numbers?

Breaking news: Ted Leo's version of "I'm Looking Though You at You Ain't No Picasso (blog). The drums sound like crap, methinks this is Ted/Tej sans Rx.

Okkervil River songs - good
Ted Leo - good but too many tricks, coincidentally the original popped up this morning on the ol' pod.

Careful with your DD nintendo games, Blades kicks Double Dribble's ass but not Double Dragon's.

Did you happen to listen to the untitled Ted Leo song here?

Yeah. Meh. I'll wait for the studio version. Does the opening sound like American Girl/Last Night?

Yes, clearly needs to be worked out on the road, and yes the song's Tom Petty roots are true.

Simmons mad! This is the first full-out "rant" column I have seen from Simmons. Although I agree with a good deal of what he's saying, I don't really care b/c I don't watch actual NBA games or get my TiVo screwed up by WNBA programming (which seem to be the sources of his rage).

That is an angry Simmons. Sometimes he needs to relax. Sure, I agree with him about the WNBA being a failed venture, and kind of pointless. But he only cares because he's a jerk. He doesn't want to see ads or have his programming interrupted? Complain to Chevy. I don't like their ads or product placements, either.

I really really like his pizza place analogy - it almost works. I do like that he tries to act like this isn't offensive, when it is. The subpar pizza place happens to have crappy pizza and female chefs, but he's saying the WNBA (pizza) is bad because the players (chefs) are women.

Anyway...

How's the Red Eyed Legends performance on Burn to Shine?
Never could resist a Chris Thomson band

No idea, anonymous. I'm sure it'll be a headline topic when it is eventually viewed.
