Drink Coffee & Destroy!

I always liked the Bouncing Souls. There's nothing a 15-year-old kid likes more than endorsement of Denny's as a den of revolution. Would that I had never picked up a beer. Maybe I'll buy that pin.

I dunno what's wrong with me, but I cannot get out of bed in the morning. It's becoming chronic. Maybe fewer Bass Ales before bed would help.

The Phillies didn't lose last night, did they? I mean, they didn't even play. It's notable that the above-the-fold (online anyway) story in the Philly Inq.'s sports section has been steadily Eagles-related for about a week. How dem O Bird's farin?

I got a nice email from Bryan "AD" Matthews this morning about recent fraternity sanctions. Perhaps I will fwd it to you.

Easy Champion

Sure enough, when I was reading How to Lose Friends and Alienate People this morning, an old drinking British expat pops up and the author is nice enough to inform me that this ol' champion was molded into Tom Wolfe's Peter Fallow for Bonfire.

Bob Mould's April 23rd post is the one I mentioned last night. Indiebears and musclecubs are funny words.

I never liked Kirk Hinrich, but now I reeeeeeeally hate Tom Cruise. That is a horrible photo of her anyway.

I heard a commercial on the radio for the "Hitchhiker's Guide" movie, one reviewer described it as "completely original." Completely?!?! Fully and totally original?!?!?. Funny how a movie based on a wildly popular novel is completely original. Baaaaloosh!

Baaaloosh!

The phi delts are dumb. They don't seem to realize that it's not a vast conspiracy against them, they're just morons. I talked with Brendan about this last eve, and gave him some book suggestions. I finished "Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close," pretty damn good. I liked it more than "Everything is Illuminated," I owe most of that to the autographedness of my copy.

I'm on my way to being this guy except for not a Royals fan.

Last night was the season finale of The US Office. Will it return? At some point I switched to According to Jim to remind myself that TV is a lot worse. Baaaloosh!

In an interesting turn of events (that will in no way influence my attendance), Sonic Youth has dropped out of the Pixies Merriwether concert and Bloc Party is in. Baaaloosh!

The Orioles are good?

Spacemen Only

Today on the way to work I saw a gentleman in a fine Members Only jacket go into the Aerospace building. This leads me to believe that there is some kind of research going on that involves the durability of the Members Only jacket and it's applicability to flight suits. Then, obviously space suits. Members Only space race. Get crackin' Russians.

Orioles win. Mulletguys eek one out.

This was supposed to be on PBS tonight but none of our 3 local affiliates are carrying it. Jerks.

Tarkio download party.

Is this thing on?

And Delaware is the Promise Ring these days? Oh right, at sea.

Pazo is pretty swank. Sunday night's a good night, what with Courtney's colleague's boyfriend comping drinks and all. They have no right to a prime location location location, though - it's a couple blocks east of Fell's Point. I did not see Ed South.

The Phillies suck, and everyone's favorite tobbacco poster boy is in trouble. It's just the media trying to break him down.

Is Deadwood over yet?

This is the story of your red right ankle.

Okay, maybe not. Listened to a lot of Decemberists last night while making delicious tacos (new recipe: mix in refried beans with the meat, it's goyariffic) - I'm really looking forward to that show. Just don't play the goddamn Tain. "It's insane, this guy's Tain" is not funny enough for a 24-minute song.

PF picked up TL/rx's tourdates, I'm sure you've checked out his website for the Bono joke.

Phillies lost to the Rockies. The Rockies!?!

Brilliant.

I've checked out a few more spots on craigslist. I dunno why. No leads, though.

Am I the only one in the blog office today?

Gone fishin'

Or under construction, or something - through Thursday. Picture a yellow sign with a stick figure in a hard hat digging.

Meanwhile, read this if you like sports and DC.

Also, take note of this place, the likely new home of Mssrs. Anderson and Jones. Should we change the name of this blog? Springs of Rock Creek just doesn't have the same ring.

Join the Club

An old guy in a Members Only Jacket sat next to me today on the Metro. I fear I am very close to wearing my own to work. I have a burning desire to infiltrate their clubhouse and learn all of thier secrets. Hopefully it will stay warm enough and I won't have to. For important info on the Members Only brand, go here. You'll note that they only sell one thing.

My entertainment based idea for the morning is two fold. Switch the casts of "Are You Being Served?" and "You Got Served." This guy would be breakin out dance moves funkier than D-Qwon whilst this lady cheers him on. This ugly guy gets served. Then this happens and these guys are all impressed but these two are not. Sadly, I fear most of the cast do not have their original hips.

Meanwhile, at this store someone has forced these gentlemen to put on shirts and work in the Mens Haberdashery Department in close proximity to the lady's underthings counter! Consternation! At first they were like "Whaaaaaaaaaaa?" but they learned to love it and even taught some white people how to dance. The white people returned the favor by drawing this.

Wow. I'd like to thank Google image search and the Academy. Thank You, good night.

Gnarls Barkley vs Trebeck's Stallion

This was on Pitchfork yesterday and is worth noting b/c Cee-Lo is great and because the name Gnarls Barkley makes me laugh.

Pixies'll be at Merriwether. When we don't live there anymore. In June. On a Monday. Don't think I need to see them again. I'll just hope that concert pops up onDemand again.

There are a lot of things odd about this page. Weezards make the playoffs, but then again who doesn't. I think I clinched my spot last week.

Trebeck's Stallion

WeeeeeeZ

Ahhhh a tracklist, let the Limewiring begin. Now if I could only figure out which 5 of those 12 song are going to be the good ones.

Bloc Party has a 930 Club date for June 16th. Too soon.

More mandates.

Gross. My theory of Death is in full effect. I'll need Brendan and Jack to confirm.

Try and check out Sin City this weekend?

I'm Trying to Make an Omelette!

Bloc Party review proves how much they need David Segal back or....need to hire us.

Re-Thread

Talk about things that suck. One of these tire treads flew of an 18 wheeler into my car this morning. I don't think it did any terrible damage but it certainly didn't do any good.

I did some number crunching and it's gonna be tiiiiiiiight for our upcoming move. I can't do anything but eat, sleep, work and read (books that I already own) for the next couple months.

Norm Chad's, mailbag is not as funny as Simmons'.

This picture is funny to me, mainly because I imagine Phil is saying "Ah Munna Choke Yooooo" or going for a piggy-back ride.

I hate Papal.

Or people. Traffic SUCKED this morning. Another reliable disappointment.

I'm a fan of infallibility. I like any doctrine routinely refuted by second graders. "What if the pope says 2+2=5?" Nothing pisses nuns off more than dissing the holy father. I know, I know, infallibility applies to doctrinal matters, etc.

Also, facebook is outta hand. My email box was full of junk this morning - who knew I had so many virtual friends who also happen to be unable to purchase beer?

Calliope Rock

It appears I had a few congruency problems when transferring songs from CD. The some of the Morrissey songs were one-off and therefore mislabeled. I found out the same was true for Tom Waits when I heard a calliope organ-laden song that was most certainly NOT "Cold, Cold Ground."

In relation to our Malkmus discussion last eve, Manchester Institute of Popular Culture is hosting a symposium. (Side note: One of MArk Ford's most hilarious ideas for a Phi Delt event was: Clyde Symposium in which Simpler would wear a smoking jacket, puff of a pipe and discuss literature and world affairs. Not word if every show would start with, "Hey.....it's me............Simpler.")

Tickets for this will be onscenely expensive. How unfortunate.

I Hate People. Brendan likes little kids singing rock songs. You can listen here. It's horrific.

Nationals, Phillies and Orioles are all 1-1. A dead heat.

Death Poetry Jam

Augie weeps for thee.

The second page of this mentions the famous album cover.

Got a non-altered version of "Beverly Hills" last night, promptly forgot my iPod this morning. Bah.

Looks like it'll be nice today, too bad I feel like going to sleep as soon as I get home.

Balls of Many Shapes and Colors

Seems some kind of peach basket-balling competition happenend last night. The Tarheels of Carolinia Norther proved to strong for the team hailing from the Land of Lincoln.

Gas is too expensive, lets just buy some crude earl and make our own.

Go Phillies and Orioles.

Eye Crutches

That phrase needed to be preserved for all time.

The bassetball game tonight starts at 9:21 pm. Too bad. Sleep wins again. Sleep has done pretty well in my bracket this year. Way to go Sleep.

Kraftwerk's website is scary. I'm not paying $50 to zee 'zem, not even for all zee Dancentrums en Stuttgart. This is a far better Kraftwerk site.

Norm Chad's column gets posted here every week, why stop now?

Malkmus on June 4th.

Go Orioles and Phillies.

Go Nats...

I can't seem to find the starting pitchers for the game. Azlo, I have no idea where these seats are, so don't get too excited. And they sent Endy Chavez to the minors, so we'll have to settle for Terminal Sludge. I guess Metro's the best way to go?

I will likely be headed to Toe-son this evenin, then back early Sundee mornin. Curse the time change Saturday night. I got f---in' no links.
