Crazy Dream
I had a dream last night that I flipped my car, got out dusted myself off, flipped my car back over and it was in pristine condition (I think I was in Commando). Also, none of the cars driving by had any people in them. No idea.
The Thievery Corporation video on the KCRW website is pretty great, it's just them spinning songs from the new album and some stuff I recognize from the DJ set (a few of their remixes and random stuff). The also talk to the radio guy about what some of the random songs are which is nice. According to the 18th St Lounge, they're going to have a live band tour, no east coast dates yet, but I'd be interested in that.
I don't think I'm gonna go to the Lethem thing tonight. I'm on pg 700 in Underworld and might be able to knock it out tonight and check out the American "Office." Plus I spent $25 whole dollars on books yesterday, I got two Alice Munro books they had, a copy of Tom Wolfe's "The Right Stuff" and JFK's "Profiles in Courage" because just like Hulk Hogan, "I Am a Real American." (various shirt tears and arm pumps).

Infrequency and Indie Punching. Not Professionalism.

Blogger's being crappy. I have very little to say, mind occupied with work stuff.
I am definitely not up for Lethem tonight. Seems like a nice guy, but I need to take a breath. There's an entry on him on the GoG Blog, I don't have time to link it.
Books are good, I'm officially jealous of your time/pace. I'm chugging throuhg Libra, it's eh, alright. It's weird, I've already read about most of these JFK=related subcharacters in, I think, a James Ellroy book. American Tabloid, maybe? Howard Hughes also hangs out in that one. All this historical background, I must not like Alice Munro.
A bunch of things from Lethem's book are covered in Underworld, which is wierding me out a bit. Most of it is about kids growing up in NYC (graffitti, street games, etc). Just odd that I read these two in a row and there's some overlap, I halfway expect some of the characters from Lethem's book to show up and hang out with Nick Shay. Also odd, Lethem's books are all about being motherless, Underworld deals with Nick being fatherless.......
Who cares, there's work to be done.
