The Answer is None, None More Blog

I will not say anything about the current lack of snow so as not to curse us in a few hours when we are blanketed. Mmmmmm, blanket, bed, zzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

Clint Eastwood wins Most Grizzled with help from his Best Supporting Raspy voice.

I might have not mentioned that Erik called me on Thursday night when I was outside the Black Cat, to ask me who sang the song "Little Black Backpack." I didn't know what he was talking about, made him sing it for me, had no idea. I think he was at happy hour, it was odd. So of course I looked it up:

Still no idea.

What do a Duke fan, a llama and Robert Novak have in common? They're mentioned in the same hilarious sentence in Norm Chad's column:http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A58095-2005Feb27.html?nav=headlines

What?!?! No concerts this week! Sleep?!?!?! Weirded Out.

Lone Wolf

The blog feels so... uncongested today, unlike my nose and the DC area. Light snow has once again terrorized the beltway, I'm beginning to think it hates our freedom. Or Fritos.

Sixers make another bonehead awesome move? Weirded out. It's a shame I don't give a crap about the NBA.

Cheaper than... anything. What the hell?

I like posting pictures.

Stole that from someone else's blog. Who is this guy, Tom Jackson?

Sammy knew it was too late...

to save Harry Carey from his own self-destructive fate...

"Nooooo!" Screamed Sammy, but it was too late. Harry Carey had indeed committed the horrid act, which would forever after be confusingly discussed by baseball and Japanese suicide aficionados alike.

Woogenheim

If there were an effective way to convey the hilarity of me singing "Love Cats" in blog form, I'd be doing that.

I guess we should leave a little after whenever you get home tonight. Sold Out concerts are annoying and I'd like to be able to see.....because I'm a princess.

Still want to drive around DC this weekend? GoG's blog sez Capital Hill restaurants are having their own restaurant week. Lunch at the Ugly Mug?

Somebody put these links on 930 forum:
Very funny PF review of a NIN album that I never would have read:http://pitchforkmedia.com/record-reviews/n/nine-inch-nails/fragile.shtml
and fake PF frontpage:http://www.somethingawful.com/fake/richdork/
(dont bother clicking on anything, it takes you to somethingawful.com, but the fake band names are hilarious)

Feel free/obligated to comment on yesterday's posts.

I am an American Aquarium Drinker

Very excited for the Wilco concert. Hoping +/- goes on first at the teenbeat show on thurs and i can cut out early. I might need to stay for most of the friday night bands to see Tuscadero and Versus. There was a good write up on Teenbeat in the Post. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A32472-2005Feb17.html

My insanely good mood continues, I'm sure you'll be the first to know when it lets up.

Kornheiser being nice to Joe Gibbs?!?!? http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A42561-2005Feb21.html?nav=headlines

Good luck with your college fair.

Fear and Loathing no more...

Hunter S. Thompson, dead at 67. I tried to get a link from Rolling Stone, but THERE's NO MENTION OF IT. Those guys suck, maybe they'll cover it in their next "Rolling Stone Cover Art Issue" covering the months of June through November. ESPN has better coverage.

Also, Earl Weaver hanging out at O's Spring Training...

Also, no traffic is nice.

Also, I'll be at work late to set up for my college fair- er, conference tomorrow.

Also, Harry Carey does not kill self, but if he did...

Hot Dags

The lady next to me on Metro this morning smelled like hot dags. Gross.

Reading/Going to bed instead of scrolling endlessly through On Demand videos worked out. I feel better this morning than I normally do.

Garry Williams hates his players: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A31163-2005Feb16.html

I'm definitely having french fries and chili for dinner. Mmmmmm.

Feesh

Frozen beer is still making me smile.

Tejada said? Are we sure someone is not speaking on his behalf? He and Sosa combined couldn't string this much Eeenglish together: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A27133-2005Feb15.html I hope the Post does not get real annoying (Tom Boswell already has) about covering their no name team during spring training.

Azlo, according to their website, Decemberists will be at 9:30 on May 6th (a Friday), something to think about.

Lets collect...

......our blog print outs and combine them in a leather bound volume entitled, "My Coorespondence with the Most Interesting Person in the World." No? Fine, a leatherette volume.

Chestertown is a nice place to spend the weekend, I am looking forward to turning my money over to their many establishments. Speaking of delicious money, let me know if you buy Bloc Party tickets, I'll deduct that from your deine cable & QOTSA bill.

Azlo, tonight is buy beer and act like Paul F Tompkins night. For me that means have 4 guinesses and present my one man show to my stereo and bookshelves. I actually do that every night when you think I'm "reading."

I was talking about this the other day, the pictures are the best:http://www.theonion.com/news/index.php?issue=4106&n=1

New Threadless T's: http://www.threadless.com. The GameBoy one is a good idea, I wouldn't wear it, and the kids with lemonade is a bit scary.

K Wolfinger will be at birthday ball, she wanted to make sure I was going and that she had my cell phone number right. Weirded out?!?!? Can we call her 'the wolf'? Can she be Harvey Keitel?

Operation "don't buy clothes and stuff" starts.....now. (cheap books and sporting clay activities excluded)

Wintery Mix

The Merlund game was amazing. There was much shouting and punching of futons by me, no witnesses.
I finished Madame Bovary and promptly mowed through about half of the Nick Hornby Polysyllabic Spree. It's pretty funny, every monthly column starts with a list of books bought and books read. It's not long so I'll probably finish it tonight.
Iron Chef was gross last night, I turned it off halfway through. The theme ingredient(s) were chocolate and coconut. The rule was that they had to make 3 savory/entree dishes. Mario Batali was the Iron Chef so I was not interested in seeing Coconut Chocolate Foie Gras Truffles.
I azlo watched Canseco on 60 minutes. That guy is either on drugs or feeling the effects of steriod use. He's all bloodshot and twitchy, I can't believe no sportswriter is going with that angle.
Ray Charles wins 8 grammies, telecast goes 14 hours before they realize he won't be picking them up.

I know my liver never agrees...

with the extensive, stupid plans I make for Chestertown weekends, but it would be nice to waste some money at this fine establishment next weekend.

Sportin'

Downlord

I spent an hour with the "J Team" yesterday getting my earl changed and my friendly service technition didn't force anything purchases upon me, but one of these days......
So that lead to me not being able to get my J Crew package out of the closed rental office since UPS thought Crystal would like my new shoes and tie more than I would.

Downlorded me some "Jolene" last night. One Dolly and several White Stripes versions. White Stripes have a lo-fi studio version that is definitely not as rockin'.

I'm gonna try and bust out a pre Wrens nap tonight, we'll see. I do have to meet my dad and brother in bawlmer at 10 tomorry. Bang bang.....bang bang bang......bang bang bang bang...car show.

Purple Monkey Dishwasher

Multiple pages for Kornheiser today:http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A12298-2005Feb9.html

I knocked out my members only jacket for the day this morning on the metro. I have still been seeing at least one everyday and am constantly amazed.

I'll be catching up on my Dirda chat this morning, how long before his book shows up at Dadaelus?

Late Addition
Throw Up:
"Michael Dirda: Updike is a master of everything he turns his hand to."

Merland won, which is nice. I haven't gotten a chance to read anything this morning.

I'll probably leave here around 3:30. We'll be at the one by Union Station, if you're still around. http://www.capcitybrew.com/index.htm

We live together.......

I don't know how we missed this yesterday, especially since we were just talking about it the other day:http://www.pitchforkmedia.com/interviews/a/advantage-04/ and the weekly feature is now greatest albums 00-04. Tyranny of Distance ranks relatively high. How did I not notice these things?

Crazy Peoples

On the walk to work today I saw a legit liscence plate that said "LUKE1:37." The : was drawn on with magic marker. That's a little insane. Someone thinks "Man, the bible is great, but these 7 words of it are particularly awesome." So of course I went to bible.com (yes, also hilarious, some of their suggested searches include "salvation," "sin," "forgive," "prayer," and......."Jesus") and looked it up: "For with God nothing shall be impossible." Aren't you kind of asking for an unfortunate car accident with that, ending up the the liscene plate falling off and spinning like at the end of Back to the Future? Incidentally my personal search results: " "Jeebus" was not found in the old or new testament."

The Wrens is Friday.....

The Slouch is pretty funny today:http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A3796-2005Feb6.html?nav=headlines

You kids with your MTZ

I'm not sure if they're changing for the better or what. I think the male 12-24 demographic is generally thought of to be guys like Justin Gunn and Spyder, all that fragging and such. That scares me, along with the fact that they are re-examining Jim Shearer's job does too. I guess we'll see.........it's like HFS, it won't really bother me because they haven't been very good for a while.

Best Weather: TuesdayDid you like the steady drizzle on Wednesday? What about the combination fog-and-drizzle on Thursday? Nah, I think I'll go with Tuesday -- dark, gloomy and Morrisey-esque. Super Bowl Week in a coma I know, I know ... it's serious ...
Har har har har.
I'll be gone most of the morning.

Don't Mess with Azlo

Who knows when this will make it up. There seem to be some barriers to self publishing, maybe we need more tools or perhaps some Knights of Convenience to do our bidding...hmmmmm.
I kinda like this guy: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A59275-2005Feb3.html
What are your thoughts on somewhat consistently, submitting goofy questions to the Washington Post chats and seeing if they get on/answered or is that too "radio prank caller"? I thought about it the other day when I made up my Weingarten one. Will Dirda answer my questions about Matt Christopher's writing and the occult? Hmmmm again.
I am saying boo-urns on Catherine P Lewis and her crappy concert reviews:

Vindaloo

The speech will certainly be long and hilarious this evening. How was the Jameson in the single malt glass? We certainly need to stop spending money. The hypothetical "big move" moves closer and closer and we need to have some duckets saved up. We're idiots.

More Bill Simmons blogging.....with pictures. There are so many classics. Here are several subjects: Stephen A Smith & Stu Scott, Randall Gay's Jersey, Univision, Guy from Weather Channel interviewing Kevin Kasper. http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story?page=simmons/mediaday/1

We didn't discuss it yesterday, but Ryan Adams, 3 albums, c'mon now. Parker Posey couldn't inspire that many songs. So are you riding with me on Saturday or are you not sure yet?

What can you tell us.....

....about the song "I'd like not to hear that?" Last night was odd. I guess I should have at least gone to the gym. Ah but there is scrubs tonight, which is good. Listened to the Rites of Spring CD on the way to work, they must have remastered it because it sounds a lot better than I remembered.
Dropped the rent off, paid my credit card and cell phone, threadless and bluefly will feel my wrath.
